I am the owner and founder of Pearl Carter. My name is Jacquilyn Marie Cota but you can call me Jackie. The name of the company is very personal. It comes from events that have occurred in my life up to present day.

You see a pearl is a very rare treasure found in…. You guessed it! oyster shells! Carter Street is somewhere I stumbled upon and found myself a place to call home (not in shelter but in love and compassion) after a very difficult time in my life. It was here where my life actually began. This magical place on the water is also where I found God. I never thought I would. Carter Street is located on a river that leads to the Atlantic ocean and no matter how hard I've ever tried to leave this nutty nieghborhood I somehow always end up coming back. This is my home. I had forgotten what home was supposed to feel like.

This was the last place on earth I pictured myself laying down roots. I'm from Philly. Carter Street is made of dirt. A city gal finding her place in the south down a dirt road doesn't sound too believable. That's what I love about the life I've lived this far. I have so many stories that sound like I made it all up. On the contrary though. I know it all happened, because…. Well, I was there. I have come to meet so many interesting people in my life. I wouldn't change a thing. The crazy parts all had to happen for me to get here……. Getting me to stay is the hard part. I wonder off a lot on purpose. 😆 It's just how I'm built. Too curious for my own good.
